The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has revealed the success of a national medical team at Al Qassimi Hospital for Women & Children to save the life of a Asian girl child and restore her normal growth rate, similar to the children of her age. The girl was suffering from a short bowel syndrome caused by repetitive bowel resections, liver dysfunction, some bacterial infections, and pancreatic insufficiency. Dr. Kalthoum Al Baloushi, Director of MoHAP’s Hospitals Administration, pointed to the high-caliber medical team who received the girl following the failure to treat her at private hospitals and refusal of other hospitals to undertake her treatment.
