Sharjah & Ajman City Centres Initiative To Help Thalassemia Sufferers

As part of Sharjah and Ajman City Centres’ ongoing commitment to the community that surrounds and supports them, their latest drive to help sufferers of thalassemia in the UAE was hailed as a huge success. "Denim Days" is yet another initiative from the Majid Al Futtaim Properties, who own the City Centres to contribute to the society to which they belong.

So far, the shopping malls have collected more than 1300 pairs of jeans to give to the UAE Red Crescent.

The two shopping centres are dedicated to helping their visitors on a day-to-day basis and also channelling their shoppers’ best intentions through campaigns and incentives to help the community.

In the latest initiative, every visitor that donated a pair of jeans was given free entry into daily draws at the malls with daily prizes of AED 5,000. Throughout the promotion, prizes worth over quarter of a million were given away.

Ali Al Abdullah, Vice President – Divisional Asset Management for Majid Al Futtaim Properties said, "The customers who come to our malls are extremely generous and always contribute above and beyond the call of duty to help anyone less fortunate than themselves. We are just pleased to be able to create ways for this generosity to be realised and find the right beneficiaries,"

"There is an amazing concept of community in the UAE and we want more than anything to play an active part in that. We feel it is a responsibility as much as a pleasure and are always delighted to make a contribution," he added.

Sharif Bader Sharif, father of the four years old, Saher Sharif who won a gift card worth AED 5000 after donating two pairs of jeans at Sharjah City Centre was absolutely thrilled about his son’s winning.

“It’s very exciting for us to win the prize, especially as we have been regularly visiting the mall and this is our first time to win something. The promotion is a great way to help other people and we are glad to be a part of it.”

The Denim Days promotion ended on March 5th.
