In line with the ethos of sharing and giving during the Holy Month of Ramadan, Sahara Centre – the leading family shopping and entertainment destination in the UAE – has fulfilled the wishes of special children from the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services [SCHS].
Younis, a 17-year-boy has been longing to own a smart phone and Sahara Centre management fulfilled his wish this Ramadan by gifting him a brand new smart phone, much to his surprise and excitement. Similarly, Awad, a hearing impaired youth from SCHS studying in the First Year Graduation course at the Sharjah University, got his wish too, for a complete bedroom furniture. Over the course of the next few weeks, the mall will be working closely with SCHS to fulfil wishes of 3 more children.
Talking about the initiative, Akram Ammar, General Manager of Sahara Centre, said: “We are extremely proud with what we achieved this Ramadan – our aim was to bring smiles to their faces and make a difference. It is a great opportunity to give back to our community and lend a hand to those who are less privileged than us.”
Thanking Sahara Centre for this gesture, Jihad Al Taher of the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, said: “We are extremely thankful to Sahara Centre for lending a hand to the special children from our organisation. Through this gesture, they have made the Holy Month of Ramadan truly special for the kids and SCHS.
Initiating such a unique concept like support to the underprivileged during the Holy Month of Ramadan has helped Sahara Centre differentiate itself as a mall with a vision to play a supporting role and get closer to the community it operates in.
